Why was Menna Shalabi arrested? The Representative Professions Syndicate explains

The Egyptian security services arrested the artist, Menna Shalaby, on her return from travel, and she was accused of possessing a quantity of drugs.

And the security services indicated that they found 12 bags of marijuana in Shalabi's possession at Cairo Airport during a search of her bags, as she was coming from New York.

A report of the incident was drawn up and the responsible authorities were notified.

However, the Egyptian Representative Professions Syndicate issued a statement requesting accuracy, and confirmed that nothing had been proven so far.

Today, Friday, the competent authorities in Cairo ordered the presentation of the 12 bags seized in the possession of the artist, Menna Shalaby, during her inspection upon her return from Cairo airport, to the criminal laboratory to examine them and confirm their nature and indicate whether they were narcotic or not, after it was likely that they were marijuana.

Investigations are underway with the actress, Menna Shalaby, in the Prosecution Office in El-Nozha, Heliopolis.

The last work of the artist, Menna Shalaby, last Ramadan was the series “With the Rising of the Spirit”, with the participation of the artist, Ilham Shaheen, directed by Kamila Abu Zekry and written by Muhammad Hisham Obayh. And produced by the “Al-Sabah Brothers” company, and it was shown on a series of Arab stations, most notably: “MBC Egypt” and the “Shahid” platform.
