Zayed and Rashid Campaign: Honoring the Founders and Unifying Efforts to Celebrate the Nation

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, has launched the “Zayed and Rashid” campaign, which aims to honour the founders of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Launching the “Zayed and Rashid” campaign to commemorate the founders The campaign, which is widely participated by 16 government, semi-government and private entities, will start on November 3, coinciding with “Flag Day” and will continue until December 2, in celebration of the 53rd Union Day. The campaign aims to highlight the established values and sacrifices made by the founders to establish the foundations of the Union, thus enhancing the UAE’s national identity.

Events and celebrations in various locations The campaign’s activities include dazzling fireworks displays on December 2 and 3 at prominent locations such as JBR Beach, Al Seef, Hatta, and Dubai Festival City Mall, where residents and visitors can enjoy exceptional views. Seasonal markets such as “Beach Canteen”, “Ripe Market”, and “Winter Wonderland” will also participate to offer shopping experiences with an Emirati touch, local foods, and activities that reflect the country’s culture. In addition, “City Walk” will witness the Union Day Parade in collaboration with “Watani Al Emarat”, offering heritage shows and various cultural events for families and visitors.

Cultural and heritage activities in museums and tourist attractions Dubai Culture & Arts Authority is organising events in various cultural locations to raise awareness of the UAE’s history, with Hatta Heritage Village, Al Fahidi District and Shindagha Museum hosting interactive activities that reflect authentic Emirati heritage. The Museum of the Future will also participate by adding a festive atmosphere by decorating its building with flags bearing the campaign’s logo, and issuing special tickets for the occasion.

As for “Expo City Dubai”, it will host a concert titled “Symphony of the Union” performed by the Al Firdaus Orchestra, where Al Wasl Plaza will be adorned with flags and host cultural performances and a market for local Emirati products.
