Zeina Makki to Nadine Njeim: You are my big sister

Lebanese actress Zeina Makki revealed that the work that brought her together with the late director Hisham Sharbatji, which is “Memoirs of an Ex-Lover,” was something important to her as an actress, and she considered this experience to be one of the greatest experiences. She said: “He loved me, believed in me, and gave me advice. He even told me that he was giving this advice to his daughter, Rasha. He enjoyed filming my scenes with his lens, so I considered it a very special experience, and I am proud of that.”

Hisham Sharbatji was telling me about Rasha's strictness. As for director Rasha Sharbatji, Zeina said in an interview with Layalina magazine that the late Hisham Sharbatji used to tell her a lot about her and revealed to her that she was very strict in her work and that she would discover this if she worked with her.

Zeina Makki said: “After his death, by chance, I participated in the series “Tariq” under the direction of Rasha Sharbatji’s camera. On my first day of filming, a problem occurred between us, and I was thinking of apologizing for the work, but we reconciled on the same day. After that, we became very good friends, and I can say that my experience before Rasha is not like the one after her. She has her own style of managing the actor and working on the performance and details, and I respect that. She is one of the few directors who care about the details of the actor, so I say that my real start was through cooperation with her, for sure.”

We didn't agree to work together. She added: "Rasha had asked me to play a role in a purely Syrian series that she was directing, but due to circumstances beyond our control, it did not happen, and I hope that this will happen in the future."

The great relationship with Nadine Njeim As for her relationship with the artist Nadine Njeim, with whom she formed a beautiful duo in the series “Tariq” and “Salon Zahra”, Zeina Makki commented by saying: “Nadine Njeim and I met for the first time in the series “Tariq” with the director Rasha Sharbatji, and I was playing the role of Nadine’s little sister, but I was looking at her and I was enchanted by her beauty as if she was really my big sister, and this helped me get into the character.”

She continued: “There was chemistry between us and acceptance that was clearly evident in the work, and we love working together to make this clearer in the series “Salon Zahra”, perhaps because our way of working is similar and we agree that we love improvising scenes, analyzing the text and spontaneity, and I say to Nadine, you are truly my big sister.”
