Ziad Rahbani apologizes for not attending the Arab Music Festival

Musician Ziad Rahbani apologized to the management of the Arab Music Festival for his inability to attend the festival due to the current situation in Lebanon.

The festival management accepted the apology with open arms and great understanding, in appreciation of the general situation, which also caused the apology of the artist Wael Jassar and the artist Assi El-Hellani previously.

Ziad Rahbani was scheduled to receive an honorary award for his artistic career during the festival, while oud player Hazem Shaheen received the honorary award on Rahbani’s behalf.

Arab honors at the festival The opening ceremony honored 19 figures who contributed to enriching life in Egypt and the Arab world, including: artist Mohamed Mounir, who was also absent, musician Salah El-Sharnouby, artist Mohamed Mohsen, singer Lotfi Bouchnak, singer Fouad Zabady, koula player Abdullah Helmy, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, former Minister of Culture, and others.

Reasons for Mohamed Mounir's absence The absence of artist Mohamed Mounir caused a great deal of controversy regarding his health condition, especially since the international musician Fathy Salama, who received the honorary shield on his behalf, indicated that the reason for Mounir’s absence was due to personal reasons, and that he expressed love and appreciation to his audience and to the festival’s management.
